There’s nothing better than watching newborn animals curiously explore the world around them. How can your eyes not be glued to all the digging, pouncing, sniffing, falling, and those wide eyes that are too big for their heads. So you can only imagine what it was like when we made friends with a few baby snow leopards in Germany—they were like kittens on special steroids that multiply cuddleability by a factor of 10. The pudgy furballs love nothing more than to go on mini adventures in their playground at Magdeburg Zoo, and not even their mother was able to curb their curious mischievousness. We saw them nudge around a soccer ball, dip their huge, snowshoe-like paws into bowls of water, and tinkle on the clinic floor (somehow even that was cute). To top it off they are the official symbol of the Girl Scout Association of Kyrgyzstan. We bet they really like their cookies!
The Falconieri delle Orobie are a family from the town of Villa d’Adda in Italy, who got so enamoured with the barn owl a family friend gave their daughter, Martina, they decided to make the adoption of nocturnal and diurnal raptors their full-time hobby. Their sanctuary, which is in the middle of a forest, currently hosts 22 of them and became famous after a YouTube video of Martina petting Molla, one of their owls, went viral. We were one a few of the 11 million people that watched it. Consequently, we couldn’t fight the urge to go and see the lovely owls ourselves.

Most adults are too wrapped up in their busy, busy lives to work out if the things that they like are actually good. Maybe that’s how Radiohead managed to spend two decades and counting making loadsa money out of isolation and depression. Or maybe that’s what makes them really great? I don’t fucking know, I’m an adult too.
But kids do know what’s up. So, to end the disarray we asked a bunch of them to explain to us exactly what we were hearing on one of Radiohead’s more celebrated tracks, “Paranoid Android”. Kids have a knack for cutting through the cookie dough, which is why this piece of video will likely go down as a turning point in British guitar music history not unequal to John Lennon being condescending to Paul McCartney for the first time, back whenever that was.

In Thailand, and increasingly in places like Indonesia and China, braces are becoming a huge teenage fashion statement. Which is pretty strange considering that, in the West, braces are ruthlessly stigmatised and pretty much a metaphor for adolescent awkwardness.
While a nice set of faux pink Hello Kitty braces might be super cute, they can, according to the press, also be super deadly. So far, fake braces have been linked to the deaths of two Thai teens. A pair of shoddy braces was blamed for the death of a 17-year-old in the northeast city of Khon Kaen from a thyroid infection, which rapidly progressed to fatal heart failure. Then, in Chonburi, police tied the death of a 14-year-old girl to braces purchased at an illegal open-air stall.
