Jigga joins the other brave little soldiers in rap today making totally non-committal declarations on their stance on homophobia. Courageous statements in the vein of “gay is just great as long as it’s all kept indoors”. A$AP Rocky did something similar, coining it ‘sexual racism’, before going on to stress the importance of lesbianism…sexy, sexy lesbianism.

True say, it’s nothing to sniff at; what would once have been career suicide, is now just another funzie pre-requisite of the modern, well-rounded MC… tolerance is OK now guyz!

QUESTION OF THE DAY - ARE YOU MAXIMISING YOUR HETEROSEXUAL POTENTIAL?

Remember when the internet was briefly outraged by this at the tail end of last week? It didn’t take the mayor of London long to realise it wouldn’t be great to have moving, bus-size adverts for homophobia parading through the city’s transport arteries, and stepped in to block them.

“Reparative therapy works to help men, who want to change their sexual orientation, naturally dissipate their homoerotic feelings and maximise their heterosexual potential,” said Reverend Lynda Rose, a spokesperson for Anglican Mainstream in the UK. Aside from making me wonder what gay men have done to Ms Rose to make her think that they’re all ill, it also made me wonder: Am I maximising my own heterosexual potential? Were the heteros of the UK maximising theirs? How do I know when I am “maximum straight”?

DHARUN RAVI, GAY BASHER, GETS BASHED BY COURT

Dharun Ravi, the Rutgers student who used a webcam to spy on his gay roommate Tyler Clementi making out with a dude before Tyler killed himself, just got found guilty of a bunch of charges, including “bias intimidation based on sexual orientation”, which is a hate crime in New Jersey and can carry a sentence of up to ten years in prison. Depending on which news stories you’ve read, you might be cheered by this – maybe you think Dharun is an asshole, a homophobe and a cruel prankster who tweeted open invitations to watch Tyler make out with his older boyfriend/fuckbuddy/whatever and helped drive a confused kid to suicide. Or you could look at Dharun and see a second confused kid, a guy who isn’t old enough to drink but might get tossed in a box for years (sentencing isn’t until May 21) for something dumb he did when he was 19. Damn. One young man died in a tragic way, and now our legal system has made sure that another young man’s life is completely fucked.

THE TEN HOTTEST HOMOPHOBES ON THE INTERNET (BY A BOY)

All homophobes are gay. That’s not something I’m saying to be edgy, it’s an actual scientific fact. There was a scientific study into it and everything. With Prop-8 out the door, it seems likely that gay marriage is going to get WAY more legal across the U.S. So hopefully some of these homophobes I found on Facebook will have the courage to come out soon, not because I think that they’re for-definite gay, but because I think they’re beautiful and precious.
